The 42-litre Capsule Clinical Waste Bin

This medium-sized unit is ideal for patient rooms, toilets or corridors on healthcare premises, and you can find this clinical waste bin in most hospitals around the UK. The hands-free frame, removable body and foot pedal operation make this bin hygienic and easy to use by patients and staff, and provide hassle-free emptying for cleaning staff.

Choosing an all-plastic unit makes your capsule safe for MRI rooms.

FAQs

  • What is this clinical waste bin manufactured from?

This 42 litre NHS sack holder is manufactured completely from durable plastic. Produced using mostly ABS strength materials and using glass reinforced components to give extra strength and rigidity.

There is not a single metal component on this pedal bin, so it is ideal for use as a hospital bin to dispose of medical waste or for use in MRI rooms.

  • How does this 42 litre hospital bin work?

This plastic sack holder is operated using a multi-point foot pedal. When the user presses the pedal, the lid is lifted, presenting a wide aperture for depositing small or large amounts of waste. A plastic damper is fitted to the bin to make sure that the lid closes down softly and slowly.

  • Where is this pedal bin suitable for?

This is an all plastic NHS sack holder. Made to exacting standards to fully comply with clinical waste legislation and it is therefore suitable for indoor use in hospitals, clinics, dentists and GP practices. We also recommend them for vets and tattoo shops, or anywhere requiring clinical waste disposal.

These slimline units are great for collecting household waste or recycling and are therefore also suitable for kitchens, nurseries, schools, canteens and businesses. Made with the NHS in mind, these clinical sack holders are strong and durable, for heavy usage.

Expertly designed, these foot peal operated bins feature a smart base, which stops the unit from marking walls and floors. They’re great for operating theatres, MRI rooms and wet rooms.

A soft closing lid comes as standard, so they’re also perfect for those quieter wards and patient rooms. Rounded edges mean they are suitable for children’s wards.

Many UK NHS Trusts buy these sack holders as standard and you can also spot them in healthcare settings in Australia!

  • How is this hospital bin emptied?

This 42 litre Capsule II All Plastic Sackholder includes a removable body as standard. This means it can be easily removed for cleaning and emptying.

To empty, simply lift the frame and lean it back. Clip it in place using the lid stay, which will hold it up whilst you empty the bin and replace the waste bag. The body can be easily lifted out of the frame so that the bag can be emptied from below (to reduce manual handling) or it can be lifted out of the top.

The frame has a built in sack retention system so that there is no unsightly overhang and the bag does not fall into the bin when rubbish is placed inside.

  • How is this NHS bin cleaned?

This 42 litre plastic clinical waste bin features smooth, wipe-clean surfaces which can be easily cleaned with warm soapy water – there’s no need for harsh chemicals.

This new design ensure no open cavities, making every aspect of this medical waste bin accessible for cleaning.
