About the Pedal Recycling Bins

The Pedal Recycling Bins

These Pedal Recycling Bins are manufactured from galvanised steel for a hardwearing design that’s corrosion and rust-proof, and powder coated in your choice of RAL colour for an additional protective barrier against scuff marks.

Available in a range of sizes, these bins are ideal for use in offices, schools and business environments due to being fire retardant and easy to operate. To reduce the risk of spreading germs, this recycling bin is foot pedal-operated, so you don’t have to use your hands to open and close the lid.

Choose from a white or silver body colour that’s anti-bacterial and easy to clean. You can also opt for a transparent body to show users and operatives what is inside the unit/s for security and educational purposes. You can also include vinyl artwork to specify what type of waste should be thrown away.

FAQs

  • What are the Pedal Recycling Bins manufactured from?

These pedal-operated bins are manufactured from premium quality galvanised steel and powder coated in your choice of RAL colour. You can opt for our standard plastisol white or silver body, or you can choose our transparent body to make the waste stream visible to aid with recycling and frequent emptying.

The lid and base of the bin can be colour coded to match your chosen waste stream or powder coated in any standard RAL colour of your choice to match your décor or brand.

  • How is the Pedal Recycling Bin operated?

These foot pedal recycling units are operated using a long foot-push bar at the bottom of the base – there’s no need to touch the lid of the bin to open it. The bar spans the entire width of the bin so that it can be easily accessed from any angle.

  • How is this bin emptied?

A purpose-built frame holds the waste bag in place to stop anything from falling into the bin. When the bag is ready to be emptied, simply lift the lid and frame up, remove the bag and replace with a new bag. Roll the new bag over the top of the bin and lower the frame and lid back in place.

A leakproof tray forms the base of the unit so that if the waste bag leaks or bursts, no mess will leave the bin. The removable body makes the bin quick and easy to clean, and the metal manufacture makes this bin fire retardant.

  • Where should the Pedal Recycling Bins be placed?

These Pedal Recycling Bins are ideal for placing inside offices, kitchens, universities, businesses or homes. They’re manufactured from galvanised steel so they’re both tough and durable; we’re so confident in our bins that we provide a one year parts and labour guarantee and a 10 year anti perforation warranty.

The smallest bin in this range is just 28 litres and offers a narrow option for use in small spaces or areas with a low volume of waste. They’re also great for grouping together to collect multiple waste streams. Our mid-range size unit is 42 litres and is a wider shape with a lower height, ideal for placing in toilet areas or underneath tables / desks. The two larger options include an 80 litre and 98 litre size for collecting large volumes of waste and recycling.

You can use A4 vinyl artwork to the front of the bin to help depict the waste stream and encourage the correct waste and recycling.

  • What colours does the Pedal Recycling Bin Range come in?

These bins are available in all of our standard powder coating colours. We think they look great with silver bodies; alternatively, our transparent units have helped many customers to increase their recycling rates through clearly showing the waste stream.

  • What optional extras are available with this bin?

Once you’ve chosen what size pedal bin you would like, you can customise the body, lid and frame colour. You can choose from a wide range of WRAP vinyl artwork (or send us your bespoke artwork) to help ensure the correct collection of waste / recycling and you can also choose our optional soft closing lids.

  • What are the benefits of powder coating?

Powder coating has several benefits that make it better than traditional liquid paint. We’ve highlighted four notable strengths of powder coating below:

    Durability

Powder coating is a preferable option compared to traditional liquid paint because, once the coating has been cured, it forms a protective barrier on the applied unit, far more durable than a unit that’s coated with liquid paint. Its solid texture means it has higher resistance against scuffs, scratches, corrosion and colour discolouration/fading.

For our outdoor litter bins, this is crucial. Our steel litter bins are manufactured using galvanised steel – this already provides excellent durability. But the powder-coated finish offers that additional protective barrier, ensuring our bins are left unharmed by extreme weather and frequent use.

    Environmentally friendly

Powder coating is an environmentally friendly process because excess powder can be recycled and reused for future applications, significantly minimising waste. At Wybone, we powder coat all our steel products in a sealed environment, reducing the risk of air pollution.

Powder coating also contains reduced volatile organic compounds (VOCs) when compared to other coatings like paint. These are harmful gases that are formed by high vapour pressure that can irritate the eyes, nose and throat of those that are frequently exposed to these tools.

    Cost-efficient

Since powder coating has the added benefits of durability and versatility, this contributes to the longevity of the unit it’s applied to. This means you’re less likely to empty your wallets to fix or replace a damaged product. In fact, we’re so confident in our powder coating process, we offer a 10-year anti-perforation warranty on all our steel litter bins.

Powder coating is also more time-efficient compared to liquid paint – it can be applied and finished in just one application. Paint, however, would likely need multiple coatings for a full application finish.

    Customisable

We understand the importance of high-quality, bespoke litter bins. After all, they’ll be a part of towns, parks and communal areas for years to come. That’s why our products are highly customisable! Powder coating is known for its versatility, which makes it a useful tool for our litter bins; they come in different shapes and sizes, and powder coating always guarantees a strong, colourful finish.

Whether it’s a gloss, matte or metallic finish, powder coating can be applied with almost any colour in mind. And our powder-coated litter bins are no exception.
