Team Cystic Fibrosis

We’re sponsoring a local family from Barnsley who are taking part in a cycling tour through Holland for cystic fibrosis.

Team Cystic Fibrosis is the family’s cycling team founded in 2010 by ex-international cyclist Martin Dainty, dedicated to raising funds and awareness for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. To date, the team has raised over £250,000 through racing and fundraising challenges.

The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is working towards a brighter future for everyone with cystic fibrosis, by funding progressive research, driving up standards of care and supporting those with the condition and their families.

Martin’s daughter Molly, who is just 12 years old has cystic fibrosis, and is the inspiration for their team.

Martin’s son Harrison is 10 years old, and races for Team Cystic Fibrosis. He is now ranked 5th in the country and has been accepted for the European Junior Cycling Tour of Assen in Holland, one of the largest children’s cycling races in the world.

The race brings over 1000 children from 21 countries to compete in a six-day stage race. Local businesses, including us here at Wybone, have kindly contributed towards the team’s expenses to help the little boy from Barnsley take on the worlds best, whilst raising awareness for his older sister’s cause.

We’ll be with the family all the way to Holland, our name will be on the new kit and car. We wish the team all the best with their fundraising, and good luck to Harrison on the tour that starts on 31 July!
