The Great British Spring Clean 2017March 1, 2017
From the 3-5 March, volunteers around the country are encouraged to get involved in local clean up events in their area to tidy up the litter that spoils our towns, villages, countryside and coastlines.
Lidl, Country Life Magazine and a range of supporting partners established the previously named Clean for The Queen campaign last year and inspired 250,000 people to get involved in community clean ups. This year, the campaign is challenged to inspire over 500,000 people to get outdoors and take part.
Keep Wales Tidy are also supporting the cause, an environmental charity that we are now partnered alongside. We will be working together to make a positive difference protecting the environment, and offering a wide variety of litter and recycling bins at preferential prices, which will include a percentage of sales going directly back into the charity.
As a major manufacturer, we’re keen supporters of organisations that make a conscious effort to be more environmentally friendly and we’re always happy to provide waste solutions and products in the hope of advocating a cleaner environment.
Meeting with industry leaders to discuss ways to reduce littering and fly tipping, and for us to get an idea of how we can adapt our products to make a bigger impact on the environment.
We’ve worked with Swansea University since 2012, providing more than 2000 recycling units. More recently, increasing the number of waste streams to comply with their new Sustainability Strategy. Since the launch of the strategy, their recycling rate has risen progressively to 55% and we will continue to work alongside the University until they achieve their 90% recycling rate and zero waste to landfill. You can read the full case study here.
We will be supporting the Great British Spring Clean campaign over the weekend, and even when the campaign finishes, we are committed to providing waste solutions to encourage a clean and tidy country.
