Wybone raises money for cancer research and support

October 1, 2014

Last week Wybone’s employees, friends and family baked, bought and rode, all in the name of raising money for cancer charities.

A Macmillan Coffee Morning was held at Wybone Head Office on Friday 26 September and Wybone Managing Director, Richard Cooper took part in the Distinguished Gentlemans Ride on Sunday 28 September.

Raising money for Macmillan with the ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’, cakes were baked, raffle tickets were sold and competitions were won.

Each day in South Yorkshire 19 people are diagnosed with cancer, so every pound raised will ensure that those people have a constant source of support, whether this be providing telephone advice, a volunteer to help with the school run or a Macmillan nurse.  The total raised for the day was £335.03.

The Distinguished Gentlemans Ride which saw gentleman all over the world riding for prostate cancer, raised over £866,000, a total which included £750 raised by Richard Cooper. The money raised will fund research into a cure for prostate cancer which takes the lives of 1300 men each day.
