Wybone bakes a difference for Comic Relief

March 28, 2017

We’re a sociable bunch at Wybone, and we try to take part in as many charity events as we can to support the local and wider community.

Last Friday we hosted Red Nose Day, a nationwide event to raise money for the charity Comic Relief. We held a small bake sale in our sales office, as well as a ‘guess how many jelly beans are in the jar?’ game to raise some extra money.

Our fundraising consisted of tucking in to some tasty treats; including cheesy biscuits, brownies, rice krispie buns and a Hungarian ‘meter’ cake that’s made from vanilla sponge with a chocolate rum cream, yum!

Red Nose Day was founded by comedian Lenny Henry in response to famine in Ethiopia, but now focuses on five major problems across both the UK and Africa.

The charity supports issues surrounding vulnerable young people, mental health, domestic violence, fighting malaria and immunisation.

Our small bake sale donations amounted to £120, which we hope will make a small difference towards Comic Relief’s life saving projects. We certainly enjoyed helping the cause!
