News:

Four decades of dedication

January 17, 2017

We said goodbye to one of Wybone’s longest serving members of staff after he made the decision to retire this Christmas.

David Christian, known more commonly to us as Roger, initially started at Wybone as an apprentice back in 1970 and during his employment he has worked in Stores and the GFC departments, more recently supporting the Production team. However, whilst recovering from his latest operation, he finally decided to retire at the end of December 2016 after a staggering 46 years of service.

We held a Christmas raffle at the end of the year with all the lovely gifts that we received from customers, and each member of staff was given three chances to win a prize! We welcomed Roger to our annual Christmas raffle, along with Wybone founder Mr Wyatt who gave a heartfelt speech to acknowledge Roger’s achievements.

There wasn’t a dry eye in the room when Roger took centre stage and said a few words about his time at Wybone, before being presented with his presents and cards from the rest of the team. He even gave us a charming rendition of White Christmas before he left; what a lovely end to the year!

We wish him all the best but he will be truly missed by everyone at Wybone.

Farewell Roger
