We’ve made improvements to our Mental Health Sackholder

March 20, 2018

We’ve worked closely with a number of health organisations and made further improvements to our Mental Health Sackholder to offer a higher level of safety in sensitive environments.

The Mental Health Sackholder has been designed for use in clinical settings where added safety and security is paramount. Manufactured from a combination of galvanised steel and aerospace grade ABS plastic, this sackholder offers strength and durability whilst maintaining a stylish design that fits comfortably in wards, patient rooms and clinical areas.

This unit functions through the foot pedal operated chute, which prevents people putting their hand into the lid to grab the contents inside. The waste bag can only be accessed using the front opening door, which requires a key for opening.

The folded edges on the lid are used to completely cover the chute system and the inner waste bag. We have increased the chute size to prevent further access to the waste bag by hand; this won’t restrict access to the body when the unit is fully unlocked. Despite the chute increase, the aperture size will remain the same so waste can easily drop through.

A full-length wall mount can now be fitted to the wall before being attached to the bin for ease of mounting; this can be easily adjusted to suit the user. This new wall mount fully encloses the push rod on the back, reducing the risk of possible ligature points.

We’ve made these improvements to offer a secure unit that doesn’t compromise on safety, whilst still delivering a high level of infection and cleaning control.
