One Trafford continue to work with Wybone on recycling initiativeAugust 20, 2018
Our work with Amey began earlier this year as part of the One Trafford partnership and their ‘Recycle on the Go‘ campaign. We designed and manufactured the MV/35C Triple Recycling Bins and provided their team with 300 units to be distributed around Manchester. Trafford Council ensured that the placement and locations of these litter bins were carefully considered to ensure high footfall areas were covered.
We spoke to Andy Turner, Account Manager for Amey about their requirements, “We approached Wybone based on the fact they were able to accommodate our bespoke requirements. After several discussions with our client, they were happy with the circular design and laser cut artwork and logos. This new design looked far more appealing and unique than the traditional square litter bin.”
The MV/35C Triple Recycling Bin has a stylish curved design and three separate compartments to collect your chosen waste stream, keeping it segregated to avoid cross contamination. The centre section features a wide aperture for the collection of general waste, with a circular and slot aperture on the left and right side of the unit to collect plastic bottles and paper. This galvanised steel litter bin enhances public areas whilst aiding recycling and holding a large 282 litre capacity.
Andy told us how the bins are working in Manchester six months on: “These trio bins have been well received from residents, who have given us great feedback on the style and design of the litter bins. An overwhelming comment is how these bins give residents the opportunity to recycle, which isn’t always available on the high street.”
Due to the success of these on-street recycling bins, Amey will be placing another large order, some of which will be sited in parks and green spaces. Andy continued: “We trialled 50 of these trio recycling bins in parks as well as an on-street solution. Moving forward, we will be purchasing these additional bins to further increase recycling rates.”
Ben Simpson, Wybone’s Northern Sales Manager said: “This was a great project for Wybone, we worked closely with Amey on the design process – they were very open to ideas. We’ve increased our product range as a result and created a new product which has now become a popular litter bin with a lot of positive feedback. We’ve enjoyed working with Amey and Trafford and we welcome the idea of working together on future projects and business opportunities.”
