Hybrid Mental Health Bin – 42 Litre CapacityProduct Code: RFG7/MHB/WEB
The Hybrid Mental Health Bin with 42 litre capacity is a purpose-designed waste unit for use in hospitals and clinical settings where added safety and security is required. This sackholder is at home in mental health facilities, with many features that offer superior security whilst still maintaining a stylish design that fits comfortably in wards, patient rooms and clinical areas.
Clinical or domestic waste can be deposited in the unit using the foot pedal operated chute. Pressing the foot pedal opens the chute which has been expertly designed to ensure no rubbish can be retrieved from the bin once it has been deposited. A gas strut fitted to the back of the unit guarantees that the lid closes slowly and minimises any chance of accidents.
The front opening door ensures the bin can be easily accessed only by those that are permitted to empty the units, and the waste bag can be swiftly and conveniently removed. Folded edges on the lid of the bin are used to completely cover the chute operating system and ensure that there is no visibility of the inner waste bag. All moving parts on this unit are enclosed to secure any possible ligature points. The bin and its contents are secured by two key locks (only one on the 42 litre size) to the top and bottom. The door is opened by lifting the lid and using the two stainless steel locks to gain access to the waste bag.
The sackholder has an enclosed back to ensure no access to moving parts and wall fixing brackets come as standard with the unit.
The Mental Health Bin is manufactured from a combination of galvanised steel and aerospace grade ABS plastic. The lid and body are powder coated galvanised steel which offers superior levels of corrosion resistance, and the base unit is manufactured from ABS plastic to keep the unit wet room safe and non-marking to walls and floors.
Built in castors make the unit easy to manoeuvre and the removable, front opening body makes the bin simple to clean. The powder coated steel contains silver ion anti-microbial coating to reduce the risk of harmful bacteria spreading on the surface of the bin.
As with all Wybone sackholders, the Mental Health Bin conforms to the fire safety code HTM0503.
The lid and base of this unit can be coloured to suit your waste stream, ensuring the correct waste is placed inside the bin. Choose black for domestic waste; yellow for hazardous waste; tiger stripe for offensive waste; orange for infectious waste; green for recycling; or white to define your own waste stream.
Encapsulated Pedal –
To offer an added level of safety, a completely enclosed plastic foot pedal can be added to the unit, reducing the risk of possible ligature points. Manufactured from ABS grade plastic, the foot pedal unit has faced rigorous testing to ensure strength and durability.
Butterfly Sack Retention System –
A galvanised steel butterfly retention frame can be built in to the top of the bin to assist with holding the waste bag in place. This completely reduces the chances of pieces of the bag being pulled from the unit and used in a harmful way. This additional mechanism is powder coated to match the colour of the bin.
The unit shown is an 42 litre version of our Hybrid Mental Health Bin. This unit is also available in with a capacity of 42 litres. The 80 litre Mental Health Bin offers a small but wide unit with a large aperture, capable of holding medium volumes of waste. This bin is ideal for placing in toilet areas or patient rooms.
