About the LBV/6 Closed Top Litter Bin

The LBV/6 Closed-Top Litter Bin

The LBV/6 Closed-Top Litter Bin is made from fibreglass, an impressive material which means your bin will never rust. And since this is an outdoor bin that’s popular in seaside towns, it’s an extremely important feature of your unit. With an extremely durable design, you’re guaranteed a bin that will last for ages, much like our other fibreglass bins that are still on location 20 years later.

This stylish rectangular unit comes in a size of 98-litres, a great slimline alternative if you want to place this bin in an area with narrow pathways or reduced space.

The slightly peaked lid means that rainwater does not settle on the top and the public is deterred from placing rubbish on the lid.

The fibreglass LBV/6 unit is available in three different finishes to suit your requirements – choose from a textured, smooth or Victoriana finish. Our standard finish is a PTX textured paint that gives a rough ‘sandpaper-like textured finish, designed to prevent unwanted graffiti and posters from being applied.

Advantages of Glass Fibre

Glass fibre boasts many benefits, making it a very sought-after material. And here you have it, beautifully crafted into a bin. You’re welcome.

  1. Damage resistant

The high tensile strength means it’s much harder to damage a glass fibre product by stretching. Their flexibility allows the fibres to bend without damage when subjected to stress or impact. Glass fibre also contains excellent thermal stability, leaving it unaffected in extreme temperatures, hot or cold.

As for the toughness of fibreglass, well, just watch this video.

2. Great for the environment

Because our glass fibre bins last so long thanks to the ‘make bins strong’ potion we poured into them (probably a little too much), it’s very unlikely you’ll need another bin from us for a long time. This allows us to save on raw materials and plenty of energy-related consumptions that naturally happen in a busy manufacturing company like ours!

3. You save on costs

This may seem obvious, but if you buy a bin that’s designed with longevity in mind, you’re not going to be pulling out your wallet every few months to fix those damages. If glass fibre bins could talk, they’d tell you to ‘put that credit card back in your pocket. I’m here to stay’.

FAQs

  • What is the capacity of this bin?

The LBV/6 has a 98-litre capacity, with wide apertures to all four sides which maximises litter collection and makes it easy for users to access no matter which side they approach it from. The slimline design and moderate capacity is ideal for busy towns and walkways, and environments where it may be difficult to empty on a regular basis.

  • What sort of finish can I have on this litter bin?

As this bin is manufactured from glass fibre composite, it comes with a choice of finishes. Our standard finish is a PTX textured paint that gives a rough ‘sandpaper’ like texture, designed to prevent unwanted graffiti and posters being applied.

You could opt for a smoother pseudo-cast iron finish with only a slight texture and no roughness, or a Victorian finish, which offers a smoother finish with only a slight texture and no roughness, but also includes traditional hand-painted beading as standard. Each finish can be painted in a range of colours, take a look at our standard glass fibre composite colours.

  • Does this bin come with any warranties?

As with all Wybone products, the LBV/6 litter bin comes with a one year parts and labour guarantee.

  • How durable is this bin?

Glass fibre composite is known for its durability. Our GFC bins can last in excess of 40 years in situ.

To demonstrate the toughness of our glass fibre composite bins in Wybone fashion, we created the Wybone hammer test.

  • How do I install this bin?

This litter bin comes with four pre-drilled holes at the base for ground fixing. We recommend using RAWL bolts which can be placed in the holes and tightened. However, we do have other fixing options available.

  • How do I empty this bin?

The internal L11 Galvanised Steel Liner is accessed via a side opening door. The side opening door allows the bin to be conveniently emptied, using little space when the door is opened, making it deal for busy areas. The internal liner features exterior handles, making the liner easy to pull out when it comes to emptying.

Once a bag has been replaced in the unit, simply push the liner back in, closing and locking the door using the Budget Lock Key provided.

  • Can I customise this bin?

The LBV/6 litter bin features multiple customisation options to suit most environments. Choose from a range of textured, smooth or Victoriana colours depending on your requirements. You can select our standard moulded litter plates or our optional tidy man plates for your bin, and you can also choose from Perspex plates to depict the waste stream/your optional artwork or additional modifications such as bird flaps or an upgraded slam lock.
