This 112-litre metal litter bin is part of our eco-friendly street bin range, an alteration of our standard MLB litter bins with an improved ecological manufacturing process:
The 112-litre MLB Eco Metal Litter Bin
Manufactured using 2mm hot-dipped coated galvanised steel (BSEN10327) and powder coated in your choice of RAL colour, your MLB/112 guarantees extreme durability with rust and corrosion-resistant qualities. So you don’t have to worry about your bin getting damaged in bad weather. You can read more about the benefits of galvanise steel here.
The 112-litre sizing provides generous waste capacity to reduce the need for frequent emptying. We also know how important it is to have an outdoor bin with a lid. You can choose from a standard lid for a subtle, simplistic design. Or a pitched lid, ideal for stopping the collection of rainwater and people leaving waste on top of the unit.
The MLB/112 Eco contains a single-hinged door, using concealed full-length, large-diameter stainless steel rod pivot hinges with frictionless bushes to the top and bottom. In other words, you have an extremely sturdy bin that will stay in place.
The self-locking door that includes a stainless steel slam lock fixed with anti-tamper bolts means operatives don’t have to worry about whether they’ve locked the unit after emptying, and no unwanted critters or pedestrians will be able to gain access.
This unit contains two open apertures for effortless waste disposal and easy emptying.
Looking for a bigger unit? You can choose from 160-litre and 224-litre.
And if you’re looking for a bin with two separate waste streams, we’ve got you covered there, too.

Orders placed before 1PM are processed the same working day, otherwise they are processed the next working day.
This ‘eco’ bin is manufactured from durable, British bought galvanised steel, which is expertly primed, cured and powder coated to offer a superior durability and excellent corrosion resistance. An 5mm heavy duty steel base provides a sturdy bottom to the bin, which comes pre-drilled for ground fixing. The bin can be securely fixed using rawl bolts or alternatively can be secured with a ground anchor in freshly laid concrete.
As with all Wybone products these MLB/112 Eco litter bins come with a 10 year anti-perforation warranty and a 1 year parts and labour guarantee.
The MLB/112 comes with a slam lock as standard, and can be opened using a T shaped universal Budget Lock Key. The internal L1 Galvanised Steel Liner feature handles on two sides to make removing and emptying a more convenient task. Once the bin has been emptied, a gentle push on the door will lock it in place.
As with all of our metal litter bins, these Eco units can be customised to suit your needs. A new pitched ashtray can be fitted to the pitched lid to ensure that those areas where smoking is permitted can be kept clean and tidy of cigarette ends. This deters members of the public from stubbing out their cigarettes on the top of bins, which can be unsightly. Alternatively, a stubber plate can be fitted.
We offer a choice of steel powder coating paint so no matter what colour scheme you’re working with, we think we’ll have something to suit you!
Our laser cutting options allow you to really make these bins your own. If you want your logo to be cut into the side, we can do that; or if you want laser cut text, we can do that too.
If you’re looking for a more traditional bin, we can add steel or vinyl banding in gold or silver.
This bin comes with a pre-drilled base for ground fixing; we recommend using RAWL bolts but we do have other fixing options available.
This eco-friendly galvanised steel bin is ideal for outdoor areas like towns and cities. Whether it’s outside a shopping centre, an airport or a post office, the choice is yours!
These free standing metal litter bins come as standard with a thick steel ground fixing base so they can be placed outside and fixed to the floor if necessary.
A slam lock is fitted to the door of the bin for convenient opening using a simple T shaped, universal key. When operatives are emptying the units the galvanised steel liner can be swiftly pulled out of the bin using the useful metal handle fitted to the front of the liner. Once emptied, the door simply slams shut and locks automatically, so you don’t have to worry about bins being left open.
The bin is fitted with an L1 galvanised steel liner which maximises the capacity of the unit whilst ensuring all waste is directed into the sack without falling down the sides of the unit.
The reason we use galvanised steel to manufacture our bins is because it provides a superior quality and reassurance that even in harsh weather conditions, these bins will still look great and stand the test of time. The best way to keep your bins looking their finest, is to keep them clean by simply power washing them with water. No detergent or chemicals are required to clean your bins.
Galvanised steel is the process of taking standard steel and coating it in zinc. This offers a protective layer that prevents rusting. The most common form of galvanisation is hot-dipped galvanising, something we do for many of our steel products. The main differences between standard galvanising and hot-dipped galvanising is that standard galvanising offers a smooth finish. Hot-dipped galvanising involves dipping steel in molten zinc, offering a rough surface finish.
Galvanised steel isn’t immune to rust – it will eventually happen. But this form of steel is known for its resistance against rust that you can’t find in other materials. Galvanised steel guarantees a rust-free product for a long time.
Galvanised steel is made by taking standard steel and coating it in zinc. The most common method of zinc coating is hot-dipped galvanising, which involves coating the steel in a molten zinc bath.
Powder coating has several benefits that make it better than traditional liquid paint. We’ve highlighted four notable strengths of powder coating below:
Powder coating is a preferable option compared to traditional liquid paint because, once the coating has been cured, it forms a protective barrier on the applied unit, far more durable than a unit that’s coated with liquid paint. Its solid texture means it has higher resistance against scuffs, scratches, corrosion and colour discolouration/fading.
For our outdoor litter bins, this is crucial. Our steel litter bins are manufactured using galvanised steel – this already provides excellent durability. But the powder-coated finish offers that additional protective barrier, ensuring our bins are left unharmed by extreme weather and frequent use.
Powder coating is an environmentally friendly process because excess powder can be recycled and reused for future applications, significantly minimising waste. At Wybone, we powder coat all our steel products in a sealed environment, reducing the risk of air pollution.
Powder coating also contains reduced volatile organic compounds (VOCs) when compared to other coatings like paint. These are harmful gases that are formed by high vapour pressure that can irritate the eyes, nose and throat of those that are frequently exposed to these tools.
Since powder coating has the added benefits of durability and versatility, this contributes to the longevity of the unit it’s applied to. This means you’re less likely to empty your wallets to fix or replace a damaged product. In fact, we’re so confident in our powder coating process, we offer a 10-year anti-perforation warranty on all our steel litter bins.
Powder coating is also more time-efficient compared to liquid paint – it can be applied and finished in just one application. Paint, however, would likely need multiple coatings for a full application finish.
We understand the importance of high-quality, bespoke litter bins. After all, they’ll be a part of towns, parks and communal areas for years to come. That’s why our products are highly customisable! Powder coating is known for its versatility, which makes it a useful tool for our litter bins; they come in different shapes and sizes, and powder coating always guarantees a strong, colourful finish.
Whether it’s a gloss, matte or metallic finish, powder coating can be applied with almost any colour in mind. And our powder-coated litter bins are no exception.
Total protection
With hot dip galvanising, every millimetre of the steel it touches is galvanised, which means the hot dip galvanising process reaches areas inaccessible to other similar processes for preventing rusting and corrosion.
Less maintenance
Using the hot dip galvanising process ensures it will never shrink or crack because it is metallurgically bonded to the steel it protects. It also offers superior resistance to abrasion and water.
More cost-effective
Even in cases where the initial cost of hot dip galvanising is higher than alternative coatings, hot dip galvanising is more cost effective in the long term because it lasts longer and needs less maintenance.
