About the WTS/8T Triple Iroko Wood Litter & Recycling Bin

The WTS/8 Triple Iroko Wood Litter & Recycling Bin

Our WTS/8 range perfectly demonstrates why wood is a great choice for an outdoor bin.

Found in Africa, Iroko hardwood is an exotic and eye-catching material that makes our WTS/8 range so special. This wooden bin provides a subtle, sophisticated look that compliments any modern or historic park or town.

The frame of the bin is manufactured from hot-dipped galvanised material, so you don’t have to worry about corrosion or rust impacting your unit. The Iroko wood that gives this bin its unique look with fantastic durable properties.

This WTS/8 unit comes with three separate waste streams to prevent cross-contamination, all while offering a generous 336-litre waste capacity to reduce frequent emptying. You can also choose the slimline version of this bin that is slightly smaller in size with a 270-litre capacity.

This Wybone wood litter bin comes with six open apertures to make litter throwing simple. What’s more, this wooden bin comes with a pre-drilled base and a galvanised steel internal liner with exterior handles so you can install and empty the bin with ease.

If this bin is too large, you can size it down with our single unit or double unit.

Please note: As this bin is made of wood, we recommend inspecting your unit every 6 months, or more if it is placed in busy areas.

Are wooden bins good?

The answer is yes. Not only do they look good, but they provide plenty of benefits. After all, there’s a reason they’re one of our most popular products.

  1. Wooden bins last a long time

Many wood types have sturdy, durable attributes. And the Iroko hardwood we use for our WTS/8 bins is no exception. If you’re looking for a bin that’ll serve you and your local area for a long time, they’ve got you covered.

2. Wooden bins are eco-friendly

Wood is a 100% renewable resource. The wood from a bin that’s beyond repair can also be recycled – something that’s great for the environment and more important than ever.

FAQs

  • What is this bin manufactured from?

This double litter bin is manufactured with a galvanised steel carcass, clad in African Iroko hardwood or wood effect recycled plastic. Whichever option you choose, you’re guaranteed an impressive-looking, durable bin.

  • What is the capacity of this bin?

This triple capacity litter bin comes in two sizes; a slimline double which offers 180 litres, split evenly between three waste streams and a 336-litre capacity which offers generous collection across the three streams.

You can choose to collect three lots of litter or recycling, however our most popular configuration is litter and mixed recycling. The three compartments are separated by an internal divider, ensuring no cross contamination between waste and recycling.

The slimline unit features six large apertures, providing convenient access for depositing waste. The standard unit benefits from eight large apertures around the sides of the unit to maximise use.

  • How do I empty this bin?

The internal L37 Galvanised Steel Liners can be accessed using the front opening door, which can be opened using the Budget Lock Key. The steel liner has two handles to the exterior, which allows it to be easily pulled out and emptied.

  • Can I customise this bin?

The Iroko hardwood is available in your choice of natural, light or dark oak finish. Optional A4 perspex artwork can be fitted to the front of the unit, with any standard WRAP iconography. If you would prefer bespoke artwork, we have an in-house design team who can customise your bin – just let us know what you require!

  • Does this bin come with any warranties?

As with all Wybone products, this litter bin comes with a standard 1 year parts and labour guarantee. Please note: wood is a natural product and will require routine maintenance typically after one years service.

  • Why are wooden bins so popular

Wooden bins are a popular choice because not only do they look great with their natural, sleek shine, but they also provide longevity thanks to the sturdy, durable features wood contains. Wooden bins are also eco-friendly, so you know you’re doing your part for the environment with these units.

  • Is Iroko a good wood?

Iroko hardwood is a popular choice because of its stability and durability. Found in Africa, Iroko wood is ideal for outdoor products thanks to its protection against fungus and rot. Beyond that, Iroko wood offers a beautiful, sleek finish that’s compatible with historic and modern areas, making it a great material for outdoor bins and park benches.

  • How do you maintain Iroko wood?

When it comes to Iroko wood, we recommend cleaning it every 6 months to maintain its beautiful, sleek finish. However, you can clean it on a more regular basis if you wish. Be careful not to use a high-pressure wash as this can damage the wood fibres. Instead, use a soft, moist cloth (where possible) and scrub gently.

  • Is Iroko wood rot-proof?

Along with its strong and robust design, Iroko wood is rot-proof. It’s safe to say insects leave this wood well alone.

  • What liner is used for this bin?

For the standard WTS/8 Triple Litter Bin, we use 3 x L1 galvanised steel liner.

For the slimline WTS/8 Triple Litter Bin, we use 3 x L72 galvanised steel liner.
