News:

We’re continuing to supply glass fibre bins to East Riding Council

July 31, 2018

We’ve secured the tender again to supply glass fibre litter bins to East Riding of Yorkshire Councilthis new contract will see us work with the council for another four years.

It’s been full speed ahead since we won the contract and so far, we’ve manufactured and delivered 20 WBC/240 Wheelie Bin Covers and 40 LBV/6 Litter Bins.

We’ve held the tender to supply the council with bins for over two decades, delivering a range of our glass fibre products. We’ve been manufacturing glass fibre products since 1982, using a technique exclusively developed by Wybone whereby a core material is encapsulated using fire retardant glass fibre polyester resins. Take a look at the production process in our latest video.

Glass fibre composite is ideally suited for street furniture due to its strength and durability. It’s completely unaffected by extreme weather conditions and salt water, which allows the bin to be placed in a coastal or roadside location and remain intact.

East Riding Council will be ordering WBC/240 Wheelie Bin Covers; this requirement for larger wheelie bin covers will reduce the number of litter bins around the district but maintain the capacity to reduce the number of litter collections.

These wheelie bin covers are manufactured in our classic Victoriana style which includes our extremely weather resistant, Hammerite black finish and hand painted gold beading. Take a look at our new colour guide for more information on our range of colours.

For decades, East Riding Council have favoured our LBV/6 Litter Bins; a slimline glass fibre composite litter bin, ideal for narrow walkways and streets. This litter bin features a side opening door that can be opened without obstructing the pavement, so it can be emptied quickly and easily.

We tailor all of our products and services to meet our customers needs; the LBV/6 is available with a choice of standard WRAP recycling iconography fitted as a perspex plate. If you’re looking for something bespoke, our in-house design team can discuss your requirements.

We have a longstanding relationship with East Riding Council and we couldn’t be happier to be working with them once again! We’ll be working closely with their street scene team over the next months to meet the contract requirements.
