We’ve been snowed under with grit bins for South LanarkshireApril 20, 2018
From treacherous snow to glorious sunshine – the weather in the UK can be temperamental at times.
We’ve been working with South Lanarkshire Council who have ordered a massive 690 glass fibre composite grit bins!
We experienced the heaviest snow seen in years at the start of this year, hundreds of schools were closed and the public were warned not to drive unless completely necessary. In Scotland, the heavy snow was issued as a red weather warning.
The council ensured that all precautions were taken, with 10,000 tonnes of grit prepared and orders for 690 Wybone grit bins in just over six months to be distributed around South Lanarkshire.
Our SFG/17 Grit Bins are manufactured with a lightweight core and coated in 20mm high impact strength glass fibre composite.
These grit bins are a popular choice among councils and local authorities due to their tough, hardwearing design.
They are also an aesthetically pleasing choice, which makes them the ideal bin to be left in situ all year round.
The durable nature of glass fibre composite means that these grit bins will remain unaffected by extreme weather conditions. We’ve been manufacturing glass fibre products since 1982 and some of our grit bins have been in situ for decades!
We also manufacture glass reinforced plastic and durable polyethylene grit bins, take a look at our full range.
Our GFC units are rigorously tested to ensure their strength and durability. Our tough Production Manager, Paul performed a ‘hammer test’ to demonstrate their resilience. Don’t worry – no bins were harmed in the making of this video.
It might only be April but why not get ahead of this unpredictable British weather and book a meeting with our sales team to discuss grit bins, give us a call on 01226 352333 or send us an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
