We’ve won the tender for Glasgow City Council!January 30, 2018
We’re excited to announce that we have won the tender to supply wheelie bin housings to Glasgow City Council.
We began tendering for the Glasgow contract in December, working towards their brief for 140, 240 and 360 litre metal freestanding wheelie bin housings, powder coated in black and blue for litter and recycling collections.
Based on their specific requirements, we proposed the BWB Wheelie Bin Cover; manufactured from hardwearing 2mm galvanised steel, complete with a stainless steel rod hinged door and slam lock as standard.
The tender requirement for larger wheelie bin housings would reduce the number of smaller litter bins around the city, but maintain the capacity to reduce the number of litter collections.
We’ve been working closely with Glasgow City Council for many years, and initially began supplying glass fibre composite litter bins. Over the years, they became interested in our range of metal products and introduced MLB Litter Bins into the city centre.
In 2014, we were successful in winning a tender for bespoke recycling units to meet their ‘Recycling on the Go’ brief funded by Zero Waste Scotland, which saw us deliver 180 units. Read more on this case study.
The same year, the council purchased 12 Torpedo Double Recycling Units to be delivered to Tollcross International Swimming Centre, which would later become a venue as part of the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
We can’t wait to continue our work with Glasgow and start production on these units, which will be rolled out across four neighbourhoods and Glasgow city centre over the forthcoming months.
