Wybone bake a difference for Macmillan Cancer Support

October 19, 2018

Last week, we held the annual Macmillan Coffee Morning at our factory in Barnsley. Every year, we get together to raise money for a worthy cause whilst tucking into cakes and biscuits.

The Macmillan Coffee Morning is the charity’s biggest fundraising event, people across the UK host their own coffee morning and donate the cost of their cuppa and cake to Macmillan Cancer Support.

We showed our appreciation to Macmillan by tucking into a whole range of treats, including Malteser cheesecake, carrot cake, chocolate orange scones and some traditional Yorkshire parkin! We even had more savoury snacks this year to avoid the afternoon sugar slump, including Branston Pickle and caramelised onion sausage rolls from our designer, Hannah.

Our lovely team put pound after pound into the donation pot to support the wonderful work that Macmillan nurses do. We’re excited to announce that we raised a fantastic £362.28 for the charity, smashing the totals of previous years!

Macmillan Cancer Support helps people at all stages of cancer, through diagnosis, treatment and supporting those affected by the devastating condition. For many people, Macmillan nurses improve lives and provide support when it is needed most.

The charity recently announced that they have received almost £14 million in donations from this year’s Coffee Mornings! If you would like to donate to Macmillan, visit their website.

We love working with both local and national charities, follow us on Twitter and Instagram to see more photographs from our charity work.
