The night was organized by Josh Ward, part of the management team at the Dam Inn, and was held in memory of his Nana Lois Audsley, who sadly passed away due to cancer in July of this year, however Josh wanted to do something positive and help the incredible staff at Wakefield Hospice keep doing the amazing work they do.
They collected gifts using a giving tree in their restaurant, which helped them donate an incredible 228 presents to the children’s ward, and they had a huge raffle with which they raised an astounding £5000+ to be donated to the hospice.
Richard Cooper, Managing director of Wybone says “It was a great event, and when we heard about it and Josh’s story it was a no-brainer for us to get involved, we’re just happy we could do our part to help out Wakefield Hospice staff & residents”
Josh wanted to share a message with everyone that attended & donated “We would like to personally thank everyone who helped support us on our charitable efforts this year, the support from everyone has been incredible! We set out to beat our 2019 total and managed to almost triple it, and given the current circumstances with Covid, we are blown away with the success of the evening! A huge thank you to everyone who donated prizes, bought tickets, and joined us in creating a wonderful evening! A huge thank you to all the Team here at The Dam Inn too for getting behind the event and working effortlessly to ensure it was a success, we couldn’t have done it without you!”
