Wybone Fights Food Waste with Artemis Wheelie Bin Cover

By implementing the appropriate food waste disposals, councils can be successful in reducing the amount of food waste that ends up in landfill, which is why we created the Artemis wheelie bin cover. The Wybone Artemis has been specifically designed to offer more hygienic solutions for street litter collection.

Food waste can be unsightly, unhygienic and produce odours. The Artemis wheelie bin cover is fully enclosed with a no-return chute for disposal of rubbish, and can be foot pedal operated, limiting contact with the bin. The handle to the chute is manufactured from stainless steel which is easy to clean and does not support the growth of bacteria, and its sloped lid stops rubbish from being placed on top of the unit, encouraging proper disposal.

The Artemis comes in 140, 240 or 360 litre size to suit any standard wheelie bin, and can be customised with colour and signage so that the purpose of the bin stands out. Using artwork is a great way to clarify which waste streams are being collected, and encourages people to be more careful when separating and disposing of their litter.

We’ve supplied 600 Artemis wheelie bin covers to the London Borough of Harrow Council that are being used for food waste across the borough in estates, high rise accommodation, flats as well as kerbside. 

The Environment Act 2021 is coming into effect in 2023, and demands that food waste be collected separately to general waste, with substantial implications for organisations that do not comply.
