Wybone helps eco-school with recycling strategyFebruary 8, 2017
Here at Wybone we’re passionate about recycling, and we’re more than happy to encourage others to do the same!
We recently designed external recycling units for Priestlands School in Hampshire, who are part of an environmental programme established by Keep Britain Tidy.
The Eco-Schools scheme inspires students to make a positive change, by raising environmental awareness through hands-on learning and engaging with the wider community. Keep Britain Tidy are the Eco-Schools National Operator for England, where more than 17,000 schools are registered.
As we do so much in-house manufacturing, we are uniquely placed to offer a bespoke service. The school got in touch for help with their outdoor recycling programme, and we were more than happy to help.
We provided RLA/6 Double Timber Fronted Recycling Bins with the added feature of a backboard and detailed artwork for the children, explaining where their rubbish will be going. Timber slats help the unit blend in to outdoor surroundings – an appropriate style for their eco-friendly campus.
Priestlands School are Bronze and Silver Eco-Schools award winners, meaning that environmental issues are covered in curriculum work with several in depth projects, and an eco-committee consisting of both students and staff meeting on a regular basis.
Charlotte Devonshire, Geography teacher at Priestlands School and a member of the eco-team showed her appreciation: ‘Wybone have been absolutely fantastic from start to finish. We made so many changes to the design but they were very patient and have created a popular, attractive and easy to use model. Thank you for kick starting our outdoor recycling programme!’
Priestlands School have since posted about the arrival of their new bins on Twitter – you can see the tweet here!
