Wybone support staff to raise money for NHS

At Wybone, it’s important to us that we encourage our employees, that’s why we do everything we can to help them with charitable donations and offering support where we can. We regularly post updates to share runs, bike rides, beard growing and any other personal challenges that our employees undertake.

Recently, one of our manufacturing technicians asked if we would donate some sheet metal and our state-of-the-art laser cutting machine to create some NHS branded wind spinners to be sold with 100% of the money raised being given to NHS Charities. We were happy to donate the materials and time as we are all forever grateful to our NHS workers and we are also in the fortunate position that we are still working to support NHS organisations so our factory is open. Due to the current situation, we have closed our Sheet Metal and GFC departments to put all of our efforts towards the production of sack holders, and this means that our laser cutting machine has some spare capacity, which we agreed to use for making these decorative spinners.

We have been pleasantly surprised by the wide reach of this idea and it has been far more successful than we could have imagined. It is for this reason that we are unfortunately not able to continue manufacturing these items. Whilst we would love to be able to show our support and raise as much money as possible, our focus must be to continue to produce much needed NHS clinical waste bins which are being used in hospitals, clinics and field hospitals throughout the UK to help stop the spread of the COVID-19 virus. This includes the recently opened NHS Nightingale Hospital at the London ExCel venue.

This special run of 1,000 limited edition NHS spinners has raised a considerable amount of money which will all be donated to NHS Charities Together. We are proud to have played a small part in the manufacture of these items and will follow up with a further update on the money raised and the spread of these spinners.
