Wybone supports Walk for WasteAid 2018

June 12, 2018

We’re working with environmental charity WasteAid UK on their latest fundraising campaign!

WasteAid UK is a non-profit independent charity that was set up by waste management professionals to support waste disposal and clean-up initiatives for communities in low-income countries.

The charity is hosting a 25 km walk across London, litter picking as they go; raising money to create jobs, train more communities with simple recycling techniques and keep plastic out of the oceans.

The walk takes place on 23 June and begins near Putney Bridge in Fulham, and will head east towards London City, across the array of historic bridges, with a lunch stop in Vauxhall. The finish line is in Southwark past the majestic Tower Bridge.

We were more than happy to be involved in the fundraising, so we donated six LPC/32 Litter Pickers to help the cause!

WasteAid’s CEO Mike Webster said “It’s fantastic that Wybone are donating litter pickers to the Walk for WasteAid. As well as raising awareness and much needed funds for WasteAid’s work, the walk is a good opportunity to tidy up the 25 km path along the Thames that we’ll be on – so thank you Wybone!”

Mike was recently announced as the winner of this year’s Resource Hot 100, beating Broadcaster Sir David Attenborough to the top spot!
