Come and see us at LARAC Wales 2025!

Wybone is Heading to LARAC Wales 2025

We’re excited to confirm that Wybone will be exhibiting at this year’s LARAC Wales Conference, taking place on Tuesday 8 July 2025 at The Parkgate Hotel in Cardiff. This highly focused event brings together local authority officers, environmental enforcement teams and waste policy professionals from across Wales to explore the future of public recycling services. The day includes expert speakers from the Welsh Government, Natural Resources Wales and local council case studies, alongside a specialist exhibition where suppliers like us will be demonstrating compliant products and practical solutions. We’ll be there all day, showcasing a targeted range of bins designed specifically for Welsh councils.

This year’s conference is especially relevant, following the introduction of the Workplace Recycling Regulations in April 2024. These new laws require all non-domestic premises in Wales, including council offices, schools, healthcare facilities and public buildings, to separate specific materials for recycling. That includes food waste, paper and card, plastics, metals, cartons and glass, as well as unsold textiles and electricals in certain cases. Enforcement teams are already active across the country, so it’s essential that councils have the right infrastructure in place to meet legal obligations. If you’re attending, you’ll be looking for bins that support clear, visible separation and help staff and residents recycle correctly with minimal confusion or contamination.

The regulations don’t stop there. It is now illegal to send separated waste to landfill or incineration, or to dispose of food waste into sewer systems. From 2026, small waste electricals must also be separated, and from 2027 textile recycling will become mandatory. That means investment decisions made today need to be future-ready, not just compliant in the short term. At our stand, we’ll be showing exactly how Wybone bins help Welsh councils meet these new demands through clear signage, WRAP colour coding, strong durable designs and options for both internal and external settings.

We’ll be bringing a Box Cycle Triple, set up in line with the Welsh version of workplace recycling, ideal for use in offices and civic spaces. Also on show will be the MLB/112/ECO litter bin, a compact, sustainable unit with an internal galvanised liner and strong, weather-resistant body, perfect for town centres and parks. We’re also showcasing our LBV/5/R GFC Victoriana style fibreglass litter bin, made from glass fibre composite, offering a traditional heritage look with outstanding durability and corrosion resistance; ideal for coastal authorities. For more natural settings, we’re bringing the WTS/8 wooden litter bin, crafted from rot resistant and insect repellant Iroko wood. We’ll also be demonstrating the Wybone ABLE, our lightweight pop-up bin designed for events, festivals and education campaigns. Freebies, sweets and chocolate will be available too, of course.

The conference itself offers a packed programme, including sessions on enforcement strategies, education and behaviour change, the role of reuse and repair in reducing waste, and how councils can adapt to the incoming separation requirements. It’s a key opportunity to hear from peers across Wales, to share success stories and to explore how legislation is being implemented on the ground. Whether you’re working in waste strategy, policy, enforcement or procurement, you’ll find value in attending.

We’d love to see you there. Come and visit the Wybone team at our stand, see our latest bins in action, and find out how we can help your council stay compliant, reduce waste and deliver better public recycling across Wales.
